War has once again engulfed the Deneb Algedi system as the feud between the Deneb Algedi Corporation (DAC) and the Future Party reached new levels of violence. Along with the existing conflict between the Justice Party and the LFT1 Confederacy, the system has again been thrown into complete turmoil.
Conflicts first arose over the weekend regarding the ownership of the “Space Pig”, a Type 9 Heavy that was offloading its cargo of painite into DAC’s Fraser Refinery using smaller vessels as ferries. Future Party representatives claimed the “DAC” vessel bore their markings and had System Security impound the vessel until its ownership could be resolved. In Federal court Monday the vessel was ruled as lawful property of the DAC and released. Future Party representatives scoffed at the ruling, claiming the Federation was only looking after its own interests, and vowed to take matters into their own hands.
On the way back to Fraser refinery, the “Space Pig” was interdicted by Future Party vessels attempting to retake the ship until DAC regulators drove them off. Hours later, the Future Party marshaled its forces and launched a full scale assault against Fraser Refinery.
“The Independents in this system are growing bolder by the day,” said DAC chief executive John Durham. “They look for any pretense to go to war to undermine the Federation in Deneb. First the nonsense with the conspiracy nuts at the Justice Party, and now this. As usual, they underestimate our resolve to not let them have their way.” - As of this writing, both sides seem evenly matched and are standing firm in the ongoing conflict.
