Burke Port - It appears the DAF had grown overconfident with their recent growth. The capture of Conti Penal Colony not only strengthened their military, but landed them a Type-9 Heavy which proved to be a boon to their coffers.
It would seem that attempting to deliver goods to DAC controlled facility using the captured ship was an unnecessary risk, but perhaps it was intended to goad the DAC into conflict. If the intention was conflict, the DAF badly miscalculated the outcome. The DAC had quietly rebuilt their military and maintained good relations with TL Armoured Transport Company. It is likely this second point that won the war for DAC. DAC as able to not only convince TLATC to provide military support in this conflict, but also to assist in recovering Conti Penal Colony. After TLATC joined the conflict, DAF was crushed in a matter of days and evicted from Conti Penal Colony.
The DAF leadership seem to have went into hiding, and the future of the faction is unclear. We spoke to an official at a DAF field office in Burke Port and this is all he had to say "We will continue to operate the field offices as we always have, that's all I know."
